Synopsis |
Seen from the point of view of Judas, Jesus Christ Superstar tells the story of the last week in the life of Jesus. Jesus is attracting large crowds of followers, and Judas is scared that the Roman rulers will crush them if they go too far. Reluctantly, he gives up his leader to the Roman rulers in hope that it will save Jesus in the end. Christ is arrested and taken to Pontius Pilate and King Herod to stand trial. Pilate believes that the man before him has done nothing wrong. To settle the crowd, he flogs Jesus thirty-nine times. But that does not satisfy the mob...
